Potassium Perchlorate
Potassium Perchlorate, KClO4, is an inorganic salt for pyrotechnic creations and science experiments.
This strong oxidizer is usually found as a crystalline, colorless solid.
It is commonly used in fireworks, ammunition percussion caps, explosive primers, propellants, flash compositions, stars, and sparklers.
It has been used as a solid rocket propellant, though it has mostly been replaced by the higher performance ammonium perchlorate.
Of the alkali metal perchlorates, Potassium Perchlorate has the lowest solubility. (1.5 g in 100 mL of water at 25 °C).
